This is the third week of our sermon series on the Holy Spirit and we heard a great message on the Fruit of the Spirit.

It is God’s heart that we walk in the Spirit and the evidence of that walk is the fruit of the Spirit that is bourne in our lives (Galatians 3:1-3; 5:22-23). The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

John 15:1-8 tells us that we can be in the Body of Christ but bear no fruit. But if we REMAIN/ABIDE in Christ, we will bear much fruit, fruit that will last and show ourselves to be His disciples. Each tree is known by its fruit (Luke 6:44).

Three principles to remember (Mark 4:30-32):

1. No seed, no harvest – the word of God is the seed. Therefore, no word, no harvest and no fruit.

2. No sowing, no reaping – there is no point in having a seed if we don’t sow it. It is in being sown that the seed brings life.

3. No faith, no fruit – without faith it is impossible to please God. When we sow his word in our lives we must sow in faith, believing that God is faithful to his word and will accomplish what he says he will do.

Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts so that we bear fruit showing ourselves to be His disciples!
