I Shall Not Be Moved

Last Sunday (27th Oct) we had a VERY special speaker – Pastor Connie Ong, the wife of the founder of EIFC. The title of her inspiring message was “I Shall Not Be Moved”.

Unless we stand on a firm foundation, this word doesn’t hold true. God only is our Rock and Salvation, and He alone is our Expectation. We need to focus on Him. We need to give priority to taking time to know Him – because this is most important in our life. You only know who you are in Christ if you know who He is, and if you know Him more (Philippians 3:10).

Knowing God includes knowing what He says about us (Psalms 139:13-16 – we are “marvelously made”; 1 Peter 2:9 – we are his “chosen generation”). That knowledge makes us firm and unmoved by the lies of the enemy. You can’t earn any of these attributes, Jesus did it all, He chose you. Something chosen means something special. No matter how old, beautiful, educated, or imperfect you are, you are special. As His “royal priesthood” we have authority and anointing. We need to use what we have been given, in all humility (Luke 10:17-20) because it is not about feeling powerful but about our eternal journey.

As a “holy nation” we are set apart by God for God, i.e. we are not common or ordinary. Everybody should come but there needs to be a transformation from being conformed to this world to being set free to be the person God created you to be! We must deny ungodliness (Titus 2:11-14).

We are God’s own special people, His possession, and as such he protects us. It is every believer’s purpose to speak about the Good News to others (Acts 20:22-24). We need to achieve our purpose, which we can only do when we focus on Him and bring the testimony of the Gospel of Grace to those who are not saved, and don’t get stuck in routine activities, shifting our focus to those rather than to the goal.
