As we bring our desires to the Lord, we have to be careful that we are seeking the God’s heart. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not about our purpose but about God’s divine purpose for our lives in His Kingdom.
True success in the kingdom is fulfilling God’s purpose.
Saul (now Paul) encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:5-6). God sends Ananias to tell Paul his purpose; that he was sent to the Gentiles and would suffer for the name of Jesus (Acts 9:15-16).
We are called to suffer for the name of Jesus, for the purpose of God’s purpose – to seek & save the lost!! The heart of God is for lost souls – those who are separated from God (Luke 15).
God is not slow in keeping His promises but He is patient, giving everyone an opportunity to come to Christ (2 Peter 3:9). God desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).
Jesus was moved with compassion as he saw how lost the people were (Matthew 9:35-38). Lost souls are in abundance and are ripe for us to harvest. Are we ready to say “send me” to the Lord when He asks, “who can I send?” (Isaiah 6:8)?
What keeps us from reaching out to the lost?
The harvest is plentiful… are you ready to go out to the harvest field? Pray and ask the Lord!
