Get Out Of Your Nest

The nest could be a trial, a challenge, a place you have settled in and found comfort even though it isn’t where God wants you to be.

There are areas of strength in our lives where we are willing to flow with God as far as He would call. But there are also weak areas where we refuse to move towards God because we are comfortable.

God is the God of progress. He told Moses to tell the Israelites to “keep moving forward”. God stirs up our nests because He wants us to identify who we are in Christ, to move us forward and towards Him, and to equip us to do what He has called us to do.

A rubber band is effective when it is stretched, so also are we launched into God’s divine plan and purpose when our faith is stretched through difficulties and trials, the fire and the storm.

(Jeremiah 1:5) We are all created with & called for a purpose. Serving God from your place of comfort, does not guarantee you will fulfill His plan for your life. We need to go through the growing pains to see the results. It is God’s desire for us to grow spiritually and to move from glory to glory.

(Deuteronomy 32) The eagle stirs up the nest of the eaglets to make them uncomfortable so that they learn how to fly. Otherwise, they will remain in their place of comfort and be unable to do what they were created to do – fly! We also see that the stirring up happens before the blessing comes.

God is faithful & gentle, even in the stretching and stirring up of your nest.

The stretching is not to destroy us but to usher us into our miracle. When Jesus called out to the disciples on the boat, Peter stepped out of the comfort of the boat in faith and he experienced a miracle.

If we want to be fit, we need to exercise. Sitting at home thinking of the gym won’t make us fit. Just like the Lord allowed the Israelites to be uncomfortable in Egypt to prepare them for the promised land, He also allows us to be uncomfortable so that we are prepared for our promised land.

If you are in a season where God’s is stirring things up, don’t give up or ran away; embrace the discomfort because it means we are continuing to move higher with Him & growth is also taking place
