Seeking The Presence (The Glory) Of God

We need the presence of God. The only thing that can make you complete, fulfilled and whole is Jesus (Psalm 16:11). You can have everything but have nothing. If everything else is absent in your life, but you have the presence of God, your life is complete!

If today you want to live a life of favour, a life free from worry, a life that is fulfilling, all you need is the presence of God.

We must continue to seek to go deeper in our love relationship with the Holy Spirit. Moses knows God has called him but he doesn’t know who God will send with him. And the Lord assured Moses, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:12-13). Moses understood that he didn’t need chariots and horses but he needed the presence of God (Exodus 33:15).

We will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us (Acts 1:8). God’s presence empower us and sets us apart from the rest of the world.

Without the presence of God in our lives, there will be no change.

Dimensions of God’s presence:

1. The inner presence of God – God’s residence is His temple, and we are that temple (1 Corinthians 3:16). When Jesus died on the cross, the curtain was torn in two so that the Presence of God (the Holy Spirit) would come and live in us.

2. The manifest presence of God – Also known as ‘Shekinah Glory’ = “God makes Himself known”. God made Himself known to Adam & Eve in Eden; His Shekinah glory was with them.

3. The omnipresence of God – God is everywhere all the time. You can’t run away from Him.

In the body of Christ, there are many who have the presence of God by virtue of salvation, but the presence of God doesn’t have them. Because God was with Joseph, not only did he prosper in a foreign land, but he prospered in prison and his master prospered also. Why? Because the presence of God was with Joseph (Genesis 39).

We must be aware of and walk in the presence of the Lord.

This is a challenge to you today: seek to go deeper with the Lord, seek to dwell in the presence of the Lord because without His presence you will NEVER be complete!
