Possessing The Gates

Gates are access points – places of entrance and exit. When you lock your keys in your car, it causes delays for you to reach at your destination on time – you become frustrated. But there are always ways to access things that have been shut. Are there doors (of your marriage, family, finances, health, relationships, etc) in your life that are shut?
The enemy sets up gates as a hindrance to limit our progress & prevent us from moving forward or progressing. When God speaks, He always fulfils what He has said. The enemy comes like a flood against God’s words over your life, but God always raises a standard! He will faithfully show you the gate and the gatekeepers to the land He has promised you.
Sometimes you can pray over a situation and it may seem like nothing is happening, but when God gives you a revelation of what you’re encountering, it changes everything. When you know the enemy you’re fighting, it changes the way you fight. Whoever occupies a territory is in charge of that territory. By the power of the Holy Spirit & the blood of Jesus Christ, when you pray in direction of God’s word, you will tear down the gates and enter into and possess the promised land.
It took the power of God in:

  1. David to bring down Goliath, who had taunted the Israelites for 40 days, for them to progress
  2. Moses to free the Israelites from Pharaoh
  3. The staff of Moses to part the Red Sea for the Israelites to walk on dry ground
  4. Through praise & worship to pull down the walls of Jericho
God has a promised land over all His children. We all have destinies and purpose.
    Gates may be:
  5. new or ancient (Psalm 24:7-10)
  6. of bronze or iron (Psalm 107:16; Isaiah 45:2)
God has the power to lift up ancient gates and cut through gates of bronze and iron (1 John 3:8)! The child of God who is pursuing Him zealously and passionately is a target for the enemy to stop him/her from entering his/her destiny (1 Peter 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 2:17-18).
(Acts 12:5-10) Some of us are saved today because someone is praying for us. There is power in prayer no matter the distance. Make it a habit to take at least an hour a day to pray for your spiritual antennae will change. May the light, glory and power of God suddenly shine into your situation! Get up in the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Ghost! Peter’s chains fell off, 2 gates and the ancient iron gate to the city were all open for Peter to his freedom. God is able to bring hope to a hopeless situation. Just when you are about to enter into your rest, delay happens – a small gate appears. God requires us not to give up and to begin knocking again (Acts 12:16; Matthew 7:7).
No matter the gate standing before you, it can’t prevail. It must be opened in Jesus name! (Matthew 16:18-19; Acts 16:25-26; Genesis 22:17; 24:60; Isaiah 60:11).
