Jay Hoellen, President of the IEC This presentation discusses recent legislative and executive actions taken by U.S. federal agencies in relation to China and the impact of government pension plans on investors. The panel will provide investment advisors and high-profile advisors on legal developments, including the passage of the Hong Kong Autonomy Act and Executive Decree 13959, that restrict investment in Chinese communist military enterprises, and how government pension plans can mitigate sanctions risks associated with existing and future investments exposed to China. NAPPA is a professional legal and educational organization whose purpose is to provide training opportunities and information resources to its member lawyers representing public pension funds. On June 22, 2021, Ashley hosted a session on “Ethics I – Confidentiality”. This interactive program used assumptions to explore the primary task of maintaining customer trust while representing a public system.
